Modern German Architecture – Unusual Concrete House Plan

Modern German Architecture – Unusual Concrete House Plan

A prime example of forward-thinking, modern German architecture, this concrete house plan by Architects Brauning is situated in a dense urban centre, but its unusual look and unique flow are totally out of this world. Concrete, steel, wood and an expansive glass wall make their way around this home’s irregular shape, offering awesome views of the outdoors. Inside, this modern house spreads living areas across four levels, which are open to one another but still provide a level of privacy. The architects stayed away from a traditional layout of walls and rooms, opting rather for an open-concept house plan that allows for a connection between these conventionally separate living spaces. The four-tiered design lets residents appreciate the modern yet cozy fireplace from any room. Below the living spaces are two lower levels, housing the bathroom with a gorgeous stone bathtub, and the master bedroom

Floor-to-ceiling windows open the home plan toward the west facing the Danube Valley; and to the south onto a covered terrace, boasting an outdoor entertaining area with views of the pond. The glass walls really expand this single storey home’s compact 12-by-12-ft. footprint, and offer direct access to an open-air terrace encircling the home. Simplicity dominates this straightforward cube house with its flat roof and walls, which give it economical appeal. Prefabricated materials allowed this home to be erected on its concrete slab within house of arriving on site, further reducing construction costs

modern house

When you can’t build out, build up! At least, that’s the motto driving Melbourne, Australia-based architecture firm Tandem Design Studio in its design for this smart central courtyard home design. Occupying a tiny footprint – just 160m2 – this compact house makes an efficient use of vertical space for comfort, convenience and contemporary style in a small yet somehow spacious package. Interiors are very minimalist and clean, lined with timber. The homes two main volumes are sunshells, connected by a central courtyard. The west wing houses the main entrance, living area, kitchen and a dramatic double-height dining room for posh entertaining. Upstairs the study, guest room and bathroom make luxurious guest accommodations! To the east, enter the double-car garage and find your way upstairs to the master bedroom and ensuite. In an effort to preserve the pristine surroundings, this modern home incorporates a number of sustainable features like rainwater- and greywater-recycling systems, hot water heat pump, solar technology on the rooftop, glass walls made of double glazed windows and triple cell polycarbonate ski

House 53 is one of the latest works by famous architect Marcio Kogan in São Paulo, Brazil. Like some of his other projects it distinguish by simplicity, comfort and interesting materials combination. The house was conceived as a wood and mortar monolithic block with another concrete and glass volume upon it. Most of rooms with wooden walls could be completely open to get all possible natural light or completely closed to darken the interior. The first floor includes public areas like a living room and a kitchen. The upper floor consists of private areas and offers a panoramic view of the surround landscape. It’s popular in that region to maintain great indoor-outdoor relationship through areas with open terraces and this house isn’t exclusion.
